Nordic Maritime Solutions is committed to keeping shipping safe and boring through cargo surveys, vessel inspections and QA surveys.
We have experts in every part of the world ready to be your eyes, ears, and voice on site wherever you need us.
World changing equipment needs world class inspections
We have said this before, we want life to be filled with excitement. Weddings, holidays, trips to the beach or the mountains, or a football match—all should be a great time filled with laughter, fun, and even a little bit of risk.
But not shipping. When it comes to the handling and transport of heavy lift we want the experience to be as boring as possible. Boring to the point of yawn-inducing. Forgettable.
Fortunately, we are not the only ones wanting to keep shipping boring!
Inspectors and insurers both have one thing in common. They want the cargo and operators to be safe during a project. It is nice to know we are not alone!
Insurers want shipping to be boring. When things get exciting on a project, insurers lose money and end up paying millions in claims and damages.
Nordic Maritime Solutions does vessel inspections and pre-load surveys, as well as review all project planning documents to help ensure safety is prioritized before the project even starts. Once a project is moving, we survey on site for every stage of the project for loss prevention and risk mitigation.
We love working with companies who share our desire to keep shipping boring, so give us a call to be your eyes, ears, and voice on site anywhere in the world, from Panama and New Zealand to Africa and India.
Best Practices
The best way to mitigate risk is to plan for it!
Before you start your next project, make sure to bring in a partner who can think of all the things that could go wrong before starting the project. The worst kind of problem is the one you do not anticipate, and Nordic Maritime Solutions has seen it all in their years of experience.
Surveyor Highlight: Andre Fouche
Andre Fouche is based in South Africa and works with NMS as an MWS, OVID, CMID inspector, marine consultant, surveyor, and auditor. He began his career as a combat officer in the South African Navy and then eventually became a Captain of a tanker in the offshore industry.
Andre loves to train and enjoys his time outdoors, camping, flying, and diving. Basically while he keeps shipping boring at work, he keeps his life exciting everywhere else!
Opposite sides of the world? No problem!
A recent P&I client was also committed to keeping shipping boring so everyone involved can stay safe.
This company needed a surveyor to perform a Conditions Survey for two of their insured vessels on opposite sides of the world.
Though a Conditions Survey is standard, they needed extra inspections to ensure safety and compliance. These additional inspections require a higher level of expertise, raising the stakes on who they could hire. And even more challenging, one of the vessels was in Panama while the other was in New Zealand.
